Giveaway!

GIVEAWAY ENDS FRIDAY, AUGUST 27 AT 5PM EST!!!
Folks, I really can't tell you how excited we are to offer this giveaway. We've teamed up with Brooke Fitts of Brookelyn Photography to offer one lucky reader a photo session shot by Brooke and styled by us. It can be an engagement session, a love session, a session with your family, your pet, your favorite place in New York, a session with your friends, or just to capture who you are at this moment in your life. To enter, just hop on over to Brooke's website and have a look-see at her photos (you might want to set aside some quality time with a cup of coffee to do this since her photos are insanely beautiful and inspiring!), then come on back over here and leave a comment on this post telling us which of Brooke's photos is your favorite and why. We'll pick a winner next Friday!
Fine print: We're sorry, but because of our busy schedules, the winner must be able to shoot in New York City between the 4th and the 9th of October. If you win, you'll also have to provide your own lodging and all of that if you're coming in from out of town (though we'll be happy to have you over for dinner!).

I loved the images she took for seattle magazine. They feel so evocative of the region as well as provide a great sense of the location itself!

holy COW what a sweet giveaway. It’s really hard to choose a favorite photograph, like choosing the dessert from a menu… !

But I think I want to win this contest very bad so I’ll pick one… I really loved the picnic session with “Dod + Elisabeth + Claire”. Sometimes we only reserve beautiful portraits for special events like weddings but more casual days are often overlooked. I love photos of brides, they are stunning always, but I love even more this very simple, very natural day in a family’s life. In the session, my favorite photo is the black and white one of the daughter sitting in her mom’s lap, swatting her father’s face away. All three of them are smiling and it doesn’t feel posed or set-up. It’s definitely the “money shot” of the session- just a sweet moment without frills.

I just like to add that I love this blog/website and brookelynphotography… I’m a student living in New York City so the “fine print” is no prob and I’m giddy with idea of possible photo session with Brooke Fitts styled by you guys. It’s too cool to be true!!!

Amy and Miguel

Miguel Looking out from the 30th flr.

This picture stands out to me because it allows the viewer to create their own conclusion. The viewer can become Miguel. As he is looking out from the balcony many feeling come to mind such as a new journey, a new beginning, emotional stability in the middle of a ever changing world, etc.
This picture is not just for Miguel and Amy. This is a picture for everyone that will or is already married. Great pictures will never tell you their statements, great pictures will leave it open to conclusion. Great picture.

I've been sitting at my computer browsing through Brooke's beautiful photos for far too long, and I am still finding it impossible to choose just one to write about for this super sweet giveaway.

I love, of course, all of the wedding photography (especially the shot of the vows written on the iPhone!)But I really love the "behind the scenes" series from the Africa shoot: it's so funny to see all of the high-tech equipment in the middle of a place so untouched by time. There's a photograph of a woman captured in the viewfinder of the camera...a little out of focus, an interesting angle, a really interesting glimpse into not only the travel aspect of the job but also the job itself.

Dude. I don't know. I'm finding this really difficult to describe!! I love it though. I love discovering all of these beautiful things.

Thank you for sharing :)

I LOVE the picture of the bride and groom kissing while holding a Polaroid pic of the scene out in front of them. It's like they are saying this is all dejavu to them... like they've done it a million times in a million different lives... love it!

How freaking awesome is this!! What an incredible opportunity! Brooke is an amazing photographer and we're just a stone's throw from NYC!

I love the pictures of Anthony and Candace - they are so natural and loving. Swoon.

The black and white photo of the newlywed couple through a car window is stunning- and it has that old Hollywood feel that I'm going for in my own wedding photos! Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you for the opportunity to win a photo as special as that one!

It's so hard to pick a favorite! All of these are amazing. Definitely one shot in my top 10% is the photo of the couple getting married on the beach (he is wearing a garland, she is wearing a long white dress). The lighting in it is so special--it looks romantic and modern at the same time.

I have to say my absolute favorite is the first one on the love page - I love weddings that somehow make a spiritual space out of something outdoorsy, and the picture of this man at the end of a man (the groom, presumably?) at the end of an aisle that's really a bridge to what looks like a tree house just gets me.

Okay it's a toss up between the picture of the silhouette of Babajidet and Temitope and your grandpa.

The silhouette radiates love and reminds me that the day really is about the couple and not EVERYTHING else that gets wrapped into a wedding.

And the picture of your grandpa is amazing, it warms my heart, and makes me smile.

I am going to have to go with the picture of the little tree house in the forest connected to a drawbridge. It reminds of Swiss Family Robinson and the trees look so alive. Also, the first couple of times I looked at this picture, I was so focused on the groom and the bridge that I didn't even notice the bride-- it looks like he doesn't know she's there either, that she's just standing off to the side and watching her husband on their wedding day.

Fingers crossed I win!!! I live in BK and I would love a chance to work with you guys on a new author photo.

i have looked at the entire site and am blown away. the photos that touched me most, or should i say evoked a heartfelt response where not those of engagement, and weddings, but of the trip to Africa. the photos of the tribes, the land they took my breathe away. i am struck by the life that lives behind the eyes of the children in all of the photos.

i have stretched my ears and it was this tribe that inspired my decision to do so...i am truly at a lost for words to express how beautiful this collection is.

for me the photo of the young boy holding his little brother or sister looking off into the distance, with the river behind him...is more that words can ever say.

i would love to win but just the ability to experience this set of photographs is winning itself.

the work is amazing, all of it, i have seen her work on another blog i regularly peruse...thanks for the chance. o and i would love to do a boudoir shoot for my fiance who is stationed at ft.bragg.

Wow! I just found this in the nick of time :)
I looove to look at photographer's websites and blogs and brooke is amazing! Since I am in the middle of wedding planning, I love to look at wedding photos. But, my favorite photo is from a trip to Africa. It is one of the tribes, a boy who is smiling the biggest smile I've ever seen. You can feel the pure joy radiating from that smile.
